The Conference is organized by the LC groups from Institute of Applied
Physics and Institute of Chemistry
Military University of
Technology
Warsaw – Poland
under the auspices of Polish Liquid Crystal Society
The conference has been held every two years for 33 years. Since 1994
the conference has become the main forum for presentation and discussion
of recent development in the field of liquid crystal research and
technology of the region of East, West and Central Europe.

Conference
will cover topics such as:

Synthesis and new materials.
·
Chiral phases, ferroelectric and
antiferroelectric liquid crystals, bananas.
·
Macroscopic and microscopic
properties.
·
Phase structure and phase
transitions.
·
Electro- and thermo-optical effects.
·
Polymer liquid crystals and
composite.
·
Applications.
·
Theory and molecular modeling.
The
number of presentations is limited to 2 per participant.
Invited review lectures (40 min),
oral presentations (20 min) and poster presentations in each
session are planned. For oral
presentations overhead projector and computer projector are available.
The size of the poster board will be approximately 100 cm (width) x 120
cm (height). Electrical power (220 V, 50 Hz ) can be provided on request.

On the railway station in Augustów the conference bus will be wait
for the trains with the following arrival time to Augustów:
On Sunday 13th of September:

On Monday 14th of September:

Conference will be held
from 14th of September (Monday) to 18th of September (Friday) 2009 in
hotel „Warszawa” (http://www.hotelwarszawa.pl)
in Augustow (250 km from Warsaw) in North-East part of Poland.
The hotel
has got sufficient number of places in comfortable single and double
rooms. All rooms are equipped with TV-Sat, radio, phone and bathroom with
shower. It is possible to use Internet via phone line. Hotel guest can
use: gym, SPA, sauna, etc. Hotel has got some rooms prepared for
handicapped people.

Restaurant serves dishes of European and traditonal Polish cuisine as
well as vegetarian dishes. During the conference Restaurants will serve
three meals a day, for all participants.
